The Pride Playbook is an open-source guide for football clubs across the UK, built to help them do one simple thing: field an official LGBTQ+ team.

We're Millwall Romans, and the numbers stopped us in our tracks. 83% of the UK's LGBTQ+ community want clubs to launch dedicated teams.

Over 2 in 5 football fans agree. And yet, of 92 professional clubs, just one has an official LGBTQ+ inclusive team, and it’s us. In 2026, that's not good enough. When a club welcomes an LGBTQ+ team into its fold, it sends a signal - to players, to fans, to the kid in the stands who isn't sure there's a place for them here.

Nearly half of LGBTQ+ fans say it would make match days more inclusive. That signal matters more than any post, or rainbow kit.

This guide was written by Millwall Romans players, Millwall FC members, and leading charities. It's practical, honest, and built for clubs of every size. The beautiful game is only beautiful if it belongs to everyone.
